08:30: Pick up from the hotel and begin sightseeing along the Bosphorus, formerly known as Constantinople and the capital city of the Eastern Roman Empire. Here you will visit the Hagia Sophia Basilica, built during the reign of Emperor Theodosius and burnt down in the fire of Nika Revolt in 532 A.D. during the reign of Justinian. Continue to Sultan Ahmet Mosque, better known as the Blue Mosque which was built between 1609 and 1616 by the architect Mehmet Emin Aga by the orders of Sultan Ahmet I.
Then follow on to the ancient Hippodrome where chariot races took place and the centre of Byzantine civic life during the Roman period. Here you can see the Obelisk of Theodosius, the bronze Serpentine Column, and the Column of Constantine.
